Urban redevelopment and low-carbon construction on Mercantour Boulevard in Nice (France)

ADIM Côte d’Azur (project owner) and Dumez Côte d’Azur – two VINCI Construction subsidiaries – have joined forces for a tertiary-sector development on Mercantour Boulevard in Nice.

Spanning over 23,000 m2 and transforming a former brownfield site, this major complex will house offices, self-storage units, a car dealership and a B&B-style hotel with 127 rooms (owned by SAS MERIDA).

Set to become home to VINCI Construction’s local civil engineering and building entities in 2024, the complex is designed to be an exemplary development, aiming for a “Very Good” BREEAM rating for its shell and core, the bronze level of the “Bâtiments Durables Méditerranéens” label, as well as compliance with the Plaine du Var area’s “Ecovallée Qualité” standards.

The decision to give the offices an industrial/exposed concrete look means our teams need to be meticulous in ensuring the concrete finish is just right.

Furthermore, the shell is being made from EXEGY® low-carbon concrete in partnership with Les Bétons Niçois. Of the 22,745 m3 of concrete required for the project, 99% will meet low-carbon standards.

This will help avoid 1,197.39 t CO2eq in total.

The project began in March 2022 and is due to end in June 2024.
